Making A Video In Powerpoint
Why would I want to make a video..? If done right – video can really help convey your message in an interesting and attractive way, and in less time compared to written articles. And, we’re always looking for any excuse to make videos, and even put them in our Ike BI article (and yes – we’ve dedicated an entire blog post on how to do this!)
Five Free Tools To Create Educational Videos
Creating a small project that includes a video is a great way to engage with project teams, teams, and the community!
The first step is to create our PowerPoint presentation. As you normally do when creating a PowerPoint presentation, it’s a good idea to organize your video with a title, body, and an endnote! In video editing, less is often more. Creating a simple slide with a bold background and one image or big statement is often more effective than trying to cram in too much detail. Here are three tips to help you get started creating your PowerPoint presentation:
The next step is to edit the elements on our slides. This is where the magic starts to happen! You are probably familiar with the ability to add animation to slides. Maybe you are guilty of using “Swivel” or “Grow & Turn” (I know I was!). However, if used wisely, animations can add great impact and create a real sense of flow in your video. Let’s do what we have:
Create truly creative and animated scenes – play with transitions, colors and textures!

Now I know what you’re thinking – isn’t this blog about video production? But we can also insert the video we have as a presentation, or take a screen recording directly into PowerPoint. We can record our screen (which is great when creating video tutorials) or upload a video to our computer. . Now, you can know the third option of adding videos from online sources. While this is fine in a regular slideshow, it’s not a good idea when creating videos because of the delay in loading times and other media that comes with watching from YouTube or Vimeo!
In our experience, if you don’t have sound (or even if you do!), music can take your video to the next level. There are plenty of free music discovery sites out there – or if you’re lucky (like us) you have a good DJ for a brother who makes custom music for you! To add audio:
Tip: Once you know the length of your video, it’s a good idea to cut the audio and add a 3 to 5 second fade. This makes your video feel more professional, and helps show the end of your viewers.
Now that you’ve created your PowerPoint presentation with animation, video and sound – it’s time to scan and export your video! To export your video:
